“This hotel, situated near Edinburgh Castle and the Royal Mile, places you at the heart of the city's attractions. I appreciate the thoughtful touches, such as the water filling station available on each floor and family rooms, but some may find the room decor a bit outdated. Its location on Grassmarket, with its vibrant dining scene, makes it a practical base for exploring Edinburgh.”

fresh pastries central location street noise late cleaning
The breakfast was quite comprehensive with many options. I especially liked the fresh pastries. The hotel location was very central making it easy to walk to many attractions (especially the Royal Mile).
The street noise was noticeable, even with the windows closed. I think improved soundproofing would be beneficial. The room cleaning happened very late one day (around 4 PM), which was inconvenient.

adequate stay with some downsides
small room lack of air conditioning
the location was great, near the tourist attractions.
The room i received was smaller than i anticipated. (it felt more cramped than the photos suggested). the lack of air conditioning was noticeable. It was difficult to regulate the temperature. the noise from outside was also quite disruptive, especially late at night.

street noise room stuffiness
the location was pretty good. it was easy enough to wander around and see some things.
the room was stuffy, even with the window open (it barely opened anyway). the noise from the street kept me up most of the night. honestly, i expected a bit more soundproofing for the price i paid.
