3-Star Georgian Hotel in Dublin City Centre near St Stephen's Green

Historic Georgian Residence

Albany House occupies an 18th-century building that was once part of the Earl of Clonmel's estate. The hotel's individually styled rooms are decorated with antique furnishings and retain original high ceilings. Guests enter through a traditional Georgian façade on Harcourt Street, with a lift providing access to upper floors.

Rooms

Each room at Albany House is furnished with antique pieces and offers en-suite bathrooms with either a bath or walk-in shower. The spacious rooms benefit from high ceilings and large windows, with some overlooking the quiet rear alley for reduced street noise. Twin, double, and family configurations are available, and rooms include a fan and tea/coffee making facilities.

Breakfast

A continental breakfast is served daily in the hotel's breakfast room, featuring fresh pastries, cheeses, cold meats, yogurt, fruit, and French press coffee. Gluten-free options are available upon request, and the breakfast staff provide personalized service. The breakfast is offered at a separate charge of €5 per person, with a generous variety replenished throughout the morning.

Location

Albany House sits a 5-minute walk from St Stephen's Green and Grafton Street, Dublin's main shopping area. Dublin Castle, Trinity College with the Book of Kells, and the Temple Bar entertainment district are all within a 10- to 15-minute walk. The Luas green line tram stop is a 3-minute walk away, and the Dublin Express airport bus stops a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Services

The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk with concierge and luggage storage services for early arrivals or late departures. Safety deposit boxes are available at reception, and express check-in/check-out is offered. Guests can request a room on the quiet side of the building to minimise any noise from the nearby nightclubs on Harcourt Street.

“In my opinion, this guesthouse holds genuine appeal with its Georgian architecture and prime location near St. Stephen's Green. the room was spacious and quiet despite facing the street due to the higher floor. friendly staff assisted with luggage since there isn't an elevator. breakfast provided excellent food with many choices. i received a discount for parking at a nearby car park.

average stay, some issues

night noise limited breakfast
The noise levels at night were frustrating. Multiple clubs nearby kept music playing until the early morning. sleeping with the window open was not an option due to the noise. the breakfast offered limited choices. Hard-boiled eggs and sliced cheese were the main options and were quite basic.

constant noise inconsistent pressure
the staff was friendly and helpful.
The noise from the clubs across the street was constant. It continued late into the night, even with earplugs. the lack of air conditioning made it difficult to close the windows and block out some of the noise. the shower had inconsistent water pressure.

the location was great for my needs. the room was clean and acceptable.
the noise at night was a serious problem. there was loud music from nearby clubs that continued until the early morning hours. the lack of air conditioning made it necessary to open the windows, which only amplified the noise. i found it very hard to sleep because of it.
