Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Scott presents itself as a beautiful, historic building, with many guests finding it charming both inside and out; some describe it as a castle with picturesque gardens. Rooms are often described as spacious and comfortable, some overlooking the gardens, and feature modern bathrooms. Breakfast receives high marks for its choices, though a few guests found the croissants less impressive. The hotel is conveniently located near Dalkeith Road with easy access to the city center via bus, and close to attractions like Arthur's Seat; however, some guests note that it's not right next to a park as they expected.

Acceptable Stay, Some Minor Issues

breakfast selection dog amenities arthur's seat view hidden switch limited parking restaurant closure
the breakfast buffet offered a good selection of items. i found the dog friendly amenities thoughtful including bowls and treats. my room had some space to sit and look at the view of arthur's seat.
the light switches in my room were hidden behind furniture (it was a bit inconvenient). parking seemed limited, and i was lucky to get a spot in front of the hotel. the restaurant was closed one night .

The room lacked a proper mirror in the bathroom, just a small desk mirror. the absence of an elevator was inconvenient. the hotel is also quite far from the city center. This was a problem.
