Built in 1912, this historic Vancouver hotel features 120 rooms and suites situated directly on English Bay beside Stanley Park. The Sylvia Hotel's distinctive facade is covered in seasonal Boston ivy, planted after World War II by early tenant Mrs. Kenvyn. Guest accommodations include apartment-style suites with fully equipped kitchens, spacious family units with two queen beds plus a separate bedroom, and beach-facing rooms offering English Bay views. Sylvia's Restaurant & Lounge serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in its bistro, dog-friendly patio, and Vancouver's first cocktail bar, operating from 7:00 AM to midnight daily. The Pendrell Room hosts events for up to 25 seated guests or 35 reception-style attendees. A 5-minute drive connects visitors to downtown, while the English Bay Seawall and Stanley Park's walking trails begin steps from the entrance.

Although I usually prefer exploring local cuisine, I found the meals offered here to be so good that I didn't feel the need to go out.
