Pros

Historic significance includes hosting Danish royalty in 1926

Daily breakfast baskets feature local products delivered to rooms

Located within 1640.4 ft of major attractions and dining options

Apartment-style accommodations offer full kitchens and separate living areas

Cons

“Reykjavik Residence distinguishes itself with apartment-style lodging spread across several historical buildings, offering a more immersive, neighborhood-like experience. The daily delivery of fresh bread from a local bakery feels particularly thoughtful, as does the option for pre-arranged airport transfers. I especially appreciate the fully-equipped kitchens, enabling longer, self-catered stays, ideal for families or extended visits to Reykjavik.”

The breakfast basket had varied fresh items each day. There was sufficient food for a good breakfast and some for lunch. The location is excellent with bus and tour stops nearby. Main attractions were within walking distance.
The hotel lobby was not in the building where i stayed. This was a slight inconvenience. Very strong air fresheners were in the room. I had to put it outside because I couldn't sleep due to the fragrance. Our economy studio feels like a hostel.

excellent stay in a fantastic location

airport driverhelpful stafftasty breakfastconvenient location
Four ladies and i arrived after an early flight. the driver was booked through the hotel, he was there. he gave us a bit of commentary on the drive. our apartment wasn't ready. yet. kind folks in the office kept our luggage until it was. we spent the day exploring and, upon return, staff helped us with bags about two blocks. two bedrooms, two bathrooms. we received a delicious food basket every evening for breakfast. the selection changed. there was so much food and also milk plus juices. a fresh loaf of bread arrived on our door every morning. there was the option to cook in the full kitchen. Plus a dishwasher. windows showed great views, and we loved the blackout curtains, daylight was almost 20 hours. rooms were made up daily, coffee pods replenished and clean towels provided. we even had robes. the hotel is close to shopping. there is also the tourist bureau. We booked tours. it's a few blocks from the main bus terminal. there is a safe for valuables. they supply lovely shampoo. body wash. hot water in iceland is abundant. i will stay here again.
i dragged suitcases down. the hotel has offsite locations. i booked through a website and got assigned to one blocks away. the carpets needed replacing. the photos on websites show only higher end rooms.
