mixed experience with some letdowns
helpful staffrubbery scrambled eggsdim lighting
the staff were helpful and the room was generally clean.
the breakfast buffet disappointed me. the scrambled eggs were rubbery. also, the room lighting was too dim, even with all lights on. side lights were broken too.

The receptionist was very friendly. they let us check in a few hours early! the room was nice! it was just what we needed for our one night stay. free on-site parking was very handy..
the staff at check-in displayed an unwelcoming demeanor from the start. there were no smiles or friendly greetings, i didn't feel welcome as a guest. the response about the credit card policy was condescending! the staff member insisted this was standard hotel policy, handled this way all over the world.

The location is great, just outside the city center but with an easy walk. The hotel, including the room, was very clean and the staff were excellent. I found the tour pick-up point very easy to locate from the bus station.
The cost was HIGH for a dated room. The restaurant and lobby were gorgeous. HOWEVER, the rooms and bathrooms were old. I found dinner delicious. HOWEVER, it made me ill and was very expensive, even for Iceland.
