5-star heritage boutique hotel in Sydney's historic Rocks district

Dining

The hotel's on-site restaurant, Tayim, serves Middle Eastern cuisine crafted by an acclaimed executive chef. A gourmet wine list and signature cocktails are available at the bar, which also hosts a daily happy hour from 5-7 PM. Breakfast is served in a heritage dining room, with options including the highly recommended Shakshuka, and special diet menus are offered upon request.

Accommodations

The 59 rooms and suites are housed in one of Sydney's oldest heritage buildings, featuring preserved original architecture with modern amenities like flat-screen LCD TVs and luxurious toiletries. Room types include the Heritage Queen Room, Heritage Superior Queen Room, and Studio King Suite, each with a private en suite bathroom and a desk. Some rooms offer partial views of the Sydney Opera House, and the hotel provides a private garden terrace for guest relaxation.

Location

The hotel sits in the heart of The Rocks, a 5-minute walk from the Sydney Harbour Bridge and a 10-minute walk from the Sydney Opera House. Circular Quay, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Royal Botanical Gardens are all within a 10-minute walk. Numerous restaurants, bars, and the weekend markets are directly at the doorstep.

Services & Amenities

Guests have access to a fitness centre, a guest lounge library, and a coffee house on site. The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, and tour desk assistance. Babysitting services are available, and the hotel provides car hire, dry cleaning, and laundry facilities.

Business & Events

The hotel offers meeting and banquet facilities, as well as fax and photocopying services for business travelers. Unique venues within the historic building provide settings for events and intimate gatherings. A dedicated concierge can arrange special packages and assist with event planning.

Boutique Charm in a GREAT Location

warm atmosphere unique atmosphere spacious room rooftop deck
I was welcomed IMMEDIATELY! The hotel has a rustic, warm, and unique atmosphere. My room was spacious and included a view of the opera house plus a rooftop deck. Housekeepers were friendly and efficient. Umbrellas were available for a rainy morning.
the building was freshly painted and i could smell paint drying. it wasn't too pleasant, but that should go away soon.
Facilities

The room felt a bit small, i must say. there wasn't much space to move around and i felt a little cramped. also, the air conditioning unit was quite noisy. It made it difficult to sleep sometimes. the location was good! but those things bothered me. the noise really disrupted my rest, twice.

helpful staff good-sized room generous breakfast shabby room poor cleanliness limited minibar
The staff was always at reception. The room had good size. amenities were refreshed daily. Breakfast options were generous, service personnel were charming.
The room felt shabby. Cleanliness was not the best. There was a need for dusting and vacuuming. The room is advertised with a mini-bar. I don't know if a small container of long-life milk is a mini-bar.

the hotel's location was quite advantageous. it allowed easy access to many local attractions. the staff were very friendly. they provided helpful advice and assistance throughout my stay.
My room lacked soundproofing. I could hear street noise clearly. the bathroom was quite small. this made maneuvering somewhat difficult, especially with toiletries.
