Hotel De Hallen is often praised for its stylish and spacious rooms, creating a comfortable stay, and some rooms feature inviting bathtubs. Situated in a trendy area, it provides convenient access to nice restaurants and shops, with a market nearby at Ten Kateplein. The hotel's location offers a peaceful environment that remains within walking distance of Amsterdam's canals and close to a big food hall; however, some guests have noted that certain rooms lack an external view. a peaceful stay near the foodhallen

convenient locationeasy mealcomfy bednatural light
I found the location very convenient. It was close to many restaurants and shops. it felt less touristy than other areas, which i appreciated. the proximity to the foodhallen was a huge plus, nice for easy meal options. the bed was comfy!!!
The rooms lacked outside windows. The curtains had to remain closed because the room faced the hotel corridor. this meant no natural light entered the space. this.

my room and hotel were very clean. The location is great and there ARE A lot of amazing good options around. It is a good base to explore.
there were NO windows that can be opened in the room. I found the room TOO warm at times. THIS would be my only improvement suggestion. The absence of opening windows resulted in uncomfortable warmth during MY stay.

Excellent Location. Modern Rooms

The staff provided excellent service and the location allowed easy access to trams and Food Hallen. I found the neighborhood to be very quiet. The rooms were clean and modern with nice amenities. The in-room espresso machine was excellent. I used it daily.
The lighting did not fully compensate for the lack of daylight in my room though it was not a big deal.
Dining

The breakfast was really excellent. It was the best I have ever had in a hotel. Everything was fresh and prepared with evident passion and love. I especially liked the variety of options.

odd layoutpoor wifi
The room i stayed in, the 'comfort double or twin room', was not great. the layout was odd. also, the staff seemed overwhelmed. wifi was also very poor. I needed a stable connection, but it was practically nonexistent. i found it unacceptable for the price.

A few minor issues

great locationfriendly staffamazing decorsmall roommissing sinkpoor view
The hotel has a great location not far from the center. The hotel is away from too much activity yet close to local food and activity spaces. Staff was friendly. The design and the room's decor are amazing.
I booked a junior suite and I did not like it at all. The room was small and the view was over a building in front. I could not open the curtains. The toilet was in a closet at the entrance of the room without a sink.

Okay stay , some small issues

peaceful gardenconvenient locationclean roomrude receptionistsoft bedlow daylight
I appreciated the hotel garden , it was a peaceful oasis. The location proved convenient , close to Food Hallen and trams for transport. The room was clean and perfect for THE stay.
The receptionist was rude and blunt , stating her shift ended so she would not serve. The beds were large but very soft was great. I found that the rooms lacked daylight , the lighting did not compensate.
