β€œThis is a property with studio apartments, not just rooms, which means more space and a proper kitchen, quite rare for a city hotel. The location puts you right in the mix of Reykjavik's restaurant and bar scene, though light sleepers should note weekend noise can travel. Self-check-in adds a layer of modern convenience, although finding the place initially might test your Reykjavik navigation skills.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
The Vintage Apartment Hotel is praised for its excellent location in the heart of Reykjavik, placing guests within easy reach of the Laugarvegur shopping district and attractions like the Rainbow Street leading to the church. Many appreciate the well-equipped, modern apartments, complete with kitchenettes featuring a fridge and coffee machine, plus comfortable beds. While some guests have noted noise from the street in certain rooms, the central location and in-room amenities, like the lovely rain showers and Icelandic SΓ³ley toiletries, generally make for a very positive stay.

excellent location supermarket responsive team street noise coffee machine lack of hospitality
the apartment had an excellent location near souvenir shops and a supermarket. it also featured beautiful seaside views. the team was responsive and warm when i contacted them (they were patient with my questions). the wine bar downstairs seemed great.
my room faced the street so there was a lot of noise. i didn't sleep well. the coffee machine required decaf pods from reception, however i was told to buy them myself. (i found this strange). i felt unwelcome as a result.

Fantastic Central Accommodation

king size beds separate covers
The room was spacious with two king size beds. Each bed had two smaller beds with separate covers. This arrangement was perfect for my family. The room was also well equipped, offering everything we needed.
The shower head was not fully attached in my room. Water leaked onto the bathroom floor when the water pressure was on. The door handle to the bathroom was also loose.

small space street noise
The room felt smaller than expected. the photos presented a different impression. a third of the space was unusable due to low ceilings. This made it difficult to move around freely. i expected more space for the price. the street noise at night was also quite disruptive. it persisted until late and started early with street cleaning.
