Kyomachiya Ryokan Sakura Urushitei offers eight distinct room types, including Sakura Suite, Urushi Suite, and traditional rooms in Mingei, Sukiya, and Shoin styles. Cons

“This Ryokan emphasizes traditional Japanese culture, from its tea ceremonies to its Ikebana experiences. A walkable distance to the Kawaramachi shopping area and close to public transport, it balances cultural immersion with accessibility. In my opinion, the futon bedding and private bath options particularly stand out for travelers seeking an authentic, relaxing experience.”

Average Stay with Issues

thin futonsinconvenient location
The soundproofing was not good. I could hear people in the hallway and the elevator. The futons also felt a little thin compared to others I've experienced. The location was somewhat inconvenient , requiring a bit of a walk to the nearest station.

helpful staffthin wallsuncomfortable futons
The staff was helpful and friendly. They stored our luggage on our last day, which allowed us to explore more.
Our room was quite small, and i could hear neighbors throughout the night, including crying children. The thin walls made it difficult to sleep well. Also the futons were not very comfortable compared to other similar rooms i have stayed in.
