3-star historic Dublin hotel with on-site nightclub and heated beer garden

Nightlife & Entertainment

DTwo is one of Harcourt Street's most popular nightclubs, playing a mix of old school classics and current chart hits. The fully heated Beer Garden has a 20ft screen and over 20 additional screens throughout the venue, showing sporting events year-round. Guests can expect a lively atmosphere from the on-site club until late, with earplugs provided in rooms as standard.

Dining

1900 Restaurant offers exclusive private dining experiences suitable for large groups. The hotel's bar and restaurant serve food and drinks in a setting that combines historic Georgian decor with a modern bar area. Breakfast is available each morning and has been described as generous and well-stocked by guests.

Rooms & Accommodations

The hotel has more than 100 comfortable bedrooms located across eight Georgian listed buildings. Free WiFi is available in all bedrooms and public areas. Some rooms are in a separate building (number 65) accessible via a lift and stairs, with room types including family rooms and twin rooms.

Location & Transport

The hotel sits on Harcourt Street off the south west corner of St. Stephen's Green in Dublin City Centre. The Green LUAS Line stop is directly outside the hotel, providing quick tram access to Grafton Street and Temple Bar. Trinity College and St. Patrick's Cathedral are within walking distance, and Iveagh Gardens behind the hotel offers jogging paths.

Hotel Character

The hotel incorporates eight Georgian listed buildings, one of which was a former home to playwright George Bernard Shaw. This historic architecture is combined with modern hotel facilities, including an outdoor heated Beer Garden and a nightclub. The property is centrally located for both leisure and business travellers needing quick access to city transport.

Highlights

Nightlife: DTwo nightclub & heated Beer Garden with 20ft screen

Dining: 1900 Restaurant with private dining for large groups

Location: Green LUAS Line stop at door, walking distance to Trinity College

History: Eight Georgian buildings, once home to George Bernard Shaw

Rooms: Over 100 bedrooms with free WiFi in public areas

“The location hits a sweet spot, balancing proximity to Dublin's lively core with a sense of retreat. I noted the mix of Georgian elegance and modern comfort, plus the on-site DTwo nightclub-quite a draw. It seems ideal for those wanting both city exploration and a vibrant night scene.”

Convenient Stay

decent size equipped bathroom public transportation
The triple room was a decent size for its price. The bathroom had good equipment. Public transportation was easily accessible from this location. I found this useful for getting around the area.
I found out on arrival that my room was in a separate building, and the concierge offered no help with luggage. The room was noisy. I could hear people coughing next door. The rooms were dated.
