Its central location is ideal for exploring the historic district, though some may find that the price doesn't quite match the room quality. The Marshall House is frequently praised for its prime location, making it easy to walk to downtown shops and restaurants, including those on River Street. Guests appreciate the historic charm and often find the rooms spacious and comfortable, some even featuring clawfoot tubs. historic charm with a few quirks

convenient locationhelpful staffcomplimentary breakfastinteresting history
i found the location quite convenient, close to many tourist spots. the staff was helpful and friendly (sharon, the cafe host, was my favorite!). i especially enjoyed the complimentary breakfast each morning. the hotel arranged a history hour, where we received wine and cheese while learning about the building's past.
my room had areas with peeling paint and chipped plaster, which detracted slightly from the otherwise beautiful aesthetic. the antique tub also looked to need some repairs, though the cleanliness was otherwise fine.
