The Read House Hotel - A Jazz-era landmark with an indoor pool, three dining venues, and 12 event spaces in downtown Chattanooga

Located steps from the Tennessee Riverwalk and Aquarium, this historic 4-star Chattanooga hotel features 241 rooms with soaring lobby ceilings, dramatic chandeliers, and checkered floors. The property completed a $25 million renovation in 2018 that restored its 1920s glamour while adding modern amenities. The indoor heated pool includes a lounge area, and the fitness center features a Peloton bike. Three distinct dining options include Bridgeman's Chophouse serving prime steaks, Bar & Billiards offering craft cocktails in a speakeasy setting, and a full-service Starbucks. The Read House provides 12 event spaces including the Silver Ballroom accommodating up to 400 guests, with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and baroque details. Guest rooms feature complimentary gigabit WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and mini-refrigerators. The hotel sits 0.5 miles from the Convention Center and 9.5 miles from Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.

“Steeped in nearly two centuries of history, this grande dame in Chattanooga is more than just a place to sleep. The hotel's meticulous renovation marries Jazz Age elegance with modern expectations, while on-site dining, especially at the Chophouse, echoes a bygone era of sophistication. Its central location and pet-friendly policy make it ideal for exploring the city, whether you're drawn to the Tennessee Aquarium or simply strolling along the Riverwalk.”

A Gem That Shines!

festive decoration warm atmosphere
I enjoyed festive Christmas decorations in the lobby. They created a warm atmosphere. The staff were great. I really appreciated the service, especially from the doormen. They tipped their hats and greeted us every time we left, and also when we returned. The hotel also has good location in the middle of the main area.
I was disappointed that the breakfast options were limited during the week. The only option was Starbucks. It was a little inconvenient. there are good breakfast options within a short walk.
