authentic pub stay
clean room comfy bed great location friendly staff
i checked in at the bar, right in the main pub area. i enjoyed a guinness while waiting. the entrance to the rooms is in the alley to the backyard. housekeeping was daily, i could see the street from my window (and the backside too).
the stairs to get to the room were quite crazy (it was a bit of a climb).

the room was larger than i expected (which was a nice surprise!). the bathroom was very nice and clean, it only had a shower. there was coffee, tea, and a water boiler in the room.

All the staff i met were professional and had a positive attitude. the bartender confirmed my name in a book (a real book, not a computer). a spar is right across the street. Very handy if you need anything.

dated room narrow stairs shower mold
The room felt quite dated. The stairs were narrow and proved difficult when carrying luggage. I also noticed some mold in the corner of the shower (which I found rather unpleasant).

great vibe helpful staff traditional pub busy bar weak fan scratchy sheets
The location was great for fun nights. The staff was very helpful I saw. The hotel got a great traditional vibe, it helped set the mood for our first night. I tried the pizza slices up the road and I liked it.
The bar was always very busy to ask for help with curtains. The room got very hot and the fan they supplied was very little and weak. The bed are hard and the sheets are scratchy I felt.
