The Dean Hotel, An Ash Hotel - A boutique Providence hotel in a 1912 mission house with karaoke bar and European-style cocktail lounge
Located in Providence's Downcity historic district, this 4-star boutique Providence hotel occupies a transformed 1912 mission house. The Dean features 52 rooms with premium bedding, parquet floors, and signature black bathrooms equipped with rain showers. Four interconnected guest rooms occupy the private top floor, accommodating up to 10 guests. The property houses multiple venues including Bolt Coffee Shop, The Dean Bar - a European-style cocktail lounge, and The Boombox karaoke venue available for private parties of 2-20 people. Every room includes air conditioning, flat-screen TVs with cable channels, free WiFi, and minibars. The Dean Hotel sits 0.5 miles from Providence Place Mall and Waterplace Park, with Brown University 1 mile away. T.F. Green Airport is located 12.5 miles from the property.
Pros
Private karaoke rooms available for hourly rental
Custom-designed furniture mixed with antiques and local craftwork
Reserved parking area adjacent to the hotel
Located within 0.3 miles of eight restaurants including Gracie's and Bolt
Cons
12.5 miles distance from T.F. Green Airport
Limited storage space for package handling
“What strikes me is the hotel's embrace of local art and culture; this creates an engaging atmosphere extending from the communal spaces to the karaoke lounge. Its location near universities and downtown Providence also makes it ideal for those eager to explore the city's vibrant atmosphere. Though some service inconsistencies were reported, the building's charmingly vintage elevator is sure to provide a unique experience.”
