Historic Streetcar Inn - A Victorian-era hotel in New Orleans' Garden District with complimentary breakfast and St. Charles Streetcar access
Housed in two converted 1890s Victorian townhouses, this 2-star New Orleans hotel features 26 non-smoking rooms in the historic lower Garden District. Each accommodation comes equipped with cable TV, free WiFi, private bathrooms with complimentary toiletries, and in-room safes. The Historic Streetcar Inn serves a daily complimentary breakfast featuring fresh coffee, whole fruits, Greek yogurt, house granola, and freshly baked pastries in the Magnolia Room and charming courtyard. A 24-hour front desk provides tour assistance and business services. The property faces the St. Charles Streetcar line, positioning guests a 5-minute walk from Magazine Street and 12 minutes from the National World War II Museum. The Historic Streetcar Inn stands within 0.3 miles of eight restaurants, including Emeril's Delmonico and VooDoo BBQ & Grill.
Pros
Original Victorian architecture from the 1890s preserved in two townhouses
Courtyard with shaded patio tables for outdoor dining
Direct access to St. Charles Streetcar line for city exploration
Walking distance to Magazine Street's shops and restaurants
Cons
1.5 miles from French Quarter attractions
Limited on-site amenities compared to larger hotels
“This spot's major draw is undeniably its location, perfectly placed for streetcar access and a variety of nearby dining. The rooms lean toward the smaller side and might feel basic for the price, but I appreciate the responsive, text-based service. Ultimately, if you prioritize location and don't mind compact spaces, it could be a practical choice.”
